Are you an actor, MC, Youtuber, or streamer who is knowledgeable and well-versed in anime, manga, Japanese pop-culture, and Japanese video games? Interested in being a part of Anime Expo? We’re now accepting applications for live stream hosts and we’re looking for people with a variety of backgrounds, interests, and experience!
While we do not currently have any details available to share about what Anime Expo will look like in 2021, the live stream host applications let us know who is interested in participating in AX so that we can plan accordingly. We know how important Anime Expo is for our community, and we are committed to creating a fun and safe experience for attendees to enjoy in 2021.
Host roles include:
- Main Host – A host with strong knowledge of the Anime Expo community, Anime/Manga/Japanese Video Games/Japanese Popular Culture and events as well as previous hosting experience and availability for all days of the event. These hosts will be the primary guide for the Anime Expo live stream, providing key information, announcements, reminders, and more. They should be familiar with the anime industry both in the US and Japan. Main Hosts may also conduct interviews with guests when needed.
- Interviewer – A host with strong knowledge of the Anime Expo community, Anime/Manga/Japanese Video Games/Japanese Popular Culture and events as well as some previous hosting experience and availability for all days of the event. These hosts will conduct interviews with guests, attendees, and sharing experiences unique to AX.
- Segment Hosts – A host with specialized knowledge of a particular aspect of Japanese Anime, Manga, Video Games, or Popular Culture who can speak to its popularity and community found at Anime Expo. Examples include Cosplay, Tabletop Gaming, Esports, Karaoke/Japanese Music, Traditional Japanese Culture, etc…
Applicants that are selected to move forward to the audition process will be notified via email by March 31st, 2021.
