Macross 82-99 started in 2012 gaining a lot of traction in sound cloud with a fresh take on the vaporwave aesthetic and sound adding more dance elements to it and bigger production value. Officially releasing a first album that year with Keats Collective, label that gained notoriety by releasing artist such as Saint Pepsi and Flamingosis. In 2013 with the release of the Sailorwave EP gained the unofficial title of creating the anime aesthetic in Future Funk music. Eventually finding the audience and success with a first show in Tokyo, Japan, Macross together with Night Tempo form the Sailor Team collective with other successful names in the Future Funk scene and started touring all over Asia constantly playing in important venues in cities like Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and more. After the pandemic a successful tour around the USA was followed as a support act for Young Bae playing all around the west coast
